Any EVH 5150 III owners think this could be done?

Man, does the footboard need a "Bypass" switch! Worst design ever imo
that you have to get up, reach around the backside, to "Bypass" the head
before unplugging!
I was wondering if there were spare wires in the 13 pin cord to use
2 spares, and series a loop from this switch to add a step on switch into
the floorboard? Imagine just being able to toe tap "Bypass"!
A big omission imo Fender should have incorporated this in the first place.

you got to remember that eddie has a tech turn on and off his rig every night. this keeps him behind the rig so he can power down and start pulling cables. it makes sense to me.

yeah, I felt the same when I tried out the EVHIII . 18 knobs is also a lil too much IMO. But the Marshall JVM with its 28 knobs still has the standby and power switch on the front.

I don't think this would be wise. I haven't seen a schematic for this amp but usually the standby switch switches the b+ voltage to the tubes. Now those are often in the 300-400V region (or more) so you need some thick wires. I wouldn't run this high voltage through a footboard cable and a footboard in general. I think such a voltage should stay in the amp.
