  • Anyone else think the blue revision uber has more bass

So i finally got my blue revision uber in, and damn does that thing have alot of bass, so much more then i remember with my older version. Anyone else notice this?

Still alot of gain, more then i need, i dont remember if it is brighter or not, i just remember my old one not having this much bass. Maybe i had old tubes in the other one, i never changed them after i bought it used or checked the bias.

Well this thing slays, defintly a heavy amp, if you want crushing distortion and crushing bass, this is the amp for you.

I haven't compared them but I have the blue revision and it sometimes seems like the bass is a little over the top. I just dial it down and balance it with more treble and mids.

I want to get another amp that's not so extreme. I can't decide on a Ecstacy or a Shiva. I haven't found a better sound than from Bogner.

Feel free to stop by and check out my XTC if you want. I am selling it but if i remember right you prefer to buy new. But you are always welcome to stop over and just check out it through different cabs if you would like.

I have a mesa Traditional straight front loaded with V30's, I have a Mesa Veritical 2x12 loaded with Celestion 75's and I also have a Bogner Uber cab loaded with the X pattern.

If you stop by, bring over your uber so we can compare, i got mine used and it is from 2004.

        Siggy, that's awesome!!!

For what it's worth, those Tung Sol 12ax7s gave me MASSIVE low end. I used to run the Lows full up with the JJ's. Now I can't turn the lows past 12:00 without the room vibrating..same room it's been for 5+ years..

I still run the treble and gain full up tho. I don't have to but it's the only way I get that "growl" I love..

I cant even get my bass up to 12:00, just so much of it. As to the treble I keep it around 1:00, but the blue revision is suppose to be a brighter amp then the older revisions.

From what I have heard the Shiva has a better clean channel, but other then that the XTC can do anything the Shiva can and then more.

But serious you should stop over, check out the XTC, but also check out the stiletto Stage II if you havent yet. Honestly you might be like me and really love it, and that is the reason the XTC is going up on the chopping block.

The XTC is a great sounding amp, however I tend to find it lacking those marshall upper mid's that the stiletto has, and I can get the stiletto to sound like the XTC, well at least the setting I like on the XTC, but I cant get the XTC to sound like the stiletto.

OK so the XTC has a million more options, but considering I pretty much used the one tone on it that I can get out of the stiletto, well all those options where no longer a big thing. And when you compare the price I paid for my stiletto compred to what i paid for the XTC, you are talking I am saving $1600 by keeping the stiletto, would have been more if i would have paid full price for the XTC which is valued at about $3600 new with all the options it has.

So in the long run, the stiletto is my amp, you should really check it out if you havent, you might be shocked like I was how great the stage II's sound.
