The MkII is out - MIDI support and tweakable effects. I may have to give this another go.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

No midi was a big killer for me on the first SV. The new version also has a harmonizer - may be a winner...

I believe you...but my first SV just didn't "capture the essence" for me...

I just bought what i think is the last (new) first gen SV 212 around here. So far so good. I really like it although i found a setting i like and haven't touch a knob since. The effects are ok but the tube sound is warm and definatley not solid state.

To me it wasn't worth another $150 for the mkii for what i use it for. although a harmonizer is kinda fun.

yesturday was black friday at guitar center, so i took my first gen (non-mkII) back... and used the 15% discount and got a mkii for $5.

guitar center looked at me kinda funny but the policy is 30 day no question return. They honor'd it and gave me a brand new in the seal'd box mkII for $5.

this is why i buy from guitar center.
