  • Marshall JCM 900

Hey guys. I found a local guy thats selling his jcm 900 for 450. Its from the early 90s and he said it probably needs the tubes changed soon. I don't really have money for this, but I could scrounge it up if I needed to. This seems like a pretty good deal, but I'm not that into the market on these, so I'm not sure. Any thoughts? Thanks

I never cared for the 900's. They always sounded too thin to me.
A re-tube can fatten it up, but if you don't "need" it, I'd pass.

$450 would be an average price for one anyway. Not a bad price, but not what I would call a steal either.

      Thanks.

I just always look at the 900s since Criss Oliva used them at a time. Hehe

JCM900s arent too crash hot. 800s on the other hand.....

The JCM900 that I got from Jeff (strat god) is really great. A decent clean with a really good distortion. It was retubed with EL34's and it's a great amp. I think $450 is a good price for one.

i like these amps....if you're not playing the heaviest stuff they sound decent and sit in a band mix very well

I am a big fan of the 900 too. $450.00 is a fine price.

To be honest i don't find my friends 50 watt dual reverb 900 to sound any worse than my 800, nice amps IMO.

I don't know how Alex Scholnick got the tone out of JCM900's that he did.. but, he did! Not a bad price at all.
