A question for Line 6 maniacs here
Some of you guyz can explain me the techincal differences between VEtta and VEtta II?
Are these improvements worth buying the last version or the 2 heads are very similar each other?

    thanx in advance

I think it's the same power section but the first version was under-rated (or the 2nd one is over-rated).

Someone more knowledgeable feel free to correct me.

The power section on both Vettas (combo vs. combo and head vs. head) are the same.

since the Vetta is upgradeable to the 2.5 (newest) Vetta II software, the differences are very very minor. the Variax input card is about it, I think, besides the downloadable software update.

I got a used Vetta original combo model which was already upgraded to 2.5 and have been super happy with it.

skorb nailed it .. unless you're using a variax or recording digitally the VDI doesn't do anything for you all the difference is really cosmetic as the software is completely upgradable ...

FWIW I have a Vetta 1 upgraded and it's fine

So for a Vetta I upgrade, is it possible to add the Variax input? I realize that's hardware rather than software, but is it readily upgradeable for that as well?

                      The differences are

                      The color of the amp
Vetta 2 has a Variax input and VDI (for reamping) card.
                      Everything else is the same.

Yes Rich, I did this to mine as I use a variax. when i did it, it was a $99 upgrade board. They apparently saw a need for this feature as early as the Vetta 1.

Actually, there are some physical differences between the I and II - early IIs had some sort of issue with the transformers. If you don't need the variax input or the digital outs (or the slightly cooler look of the V II) - get a Vetta I and upgrade it.

What does the upgrade get you exactly?
