What does the upgrade get you exactly?

- more advanced patches with better tone/modeling and more headroom
- better high gain patches and more of them
- more effects stomp boxes

only if you do the 2.5 upgrade which you can do on the original vetta.

Actually, there are some physical differences between the I and II - early IIs had some sort of issue with the transformers. If you don't need the variax input or the digital outs (or the slightly cooler look of the V II) - get a Vetta I and upgrade it.
