Has anyone played or heard one of these? From the description and the price (~900 street) it seems like it could be great.

I love my YCV 80 2x12 combo so I was very excited about this when I heard it was out...All the fretures you ever want and and looks killer. I went into the music store and plugged in as soon as they came in...
Sounded like crap...I was so let down. They said it was based on the YCV 80 circuitry, but it sounds nothing like it. Just no balls...Not a lot of gain either.
I kept looking for a magic button that was going to make it right. maybe I over looked it but I don't think so.

We've got one in the store I work at. We demo all the incoming guitars and pedals on it.
Sounds pretty good, but you've gotta tweak it. There's a separate EQ for each channel, and the 'Scoop/Modern/whatever the Hell' they call it switch really makes the difference, I've found.
But I like it.

"Scoop" is the magic button on my YCV 80...maybe I missed it? It was a while ago.
I should point out that the tones I look for are toward the heay/dark tones...The amp sounded very early era rock to me.

I´m gonna check one of these out when I get the chance, but the affordable multi-channel all-tube class is surprisingly enough getting a bit crowded... the way I see it the Traynor is primarily up against the Carvin V3 and the Laney TT50/TT100 - and both of those are fine amps.

I tried the amp for about an hour and didn't really like it. Cleans sounded great but the gain tones didn't do it for me at all.
