has anyone tried out a peavey windsor or a behringer 412 cabinet? i'm poor and looking for an economy cabinet to match my peavey triple xxx head to that won't sound like crap.

I love my Behringer 4X12 cab.It has the Jensen speakers and they sound great. The cab is built like a tank.Now its not a birch ply cab but very substantial.The windsor cab with V30s is a good choice.
The Behringer and Windsor heads are very cheaply made but the cabs are pretty good.
I have had a Windsor head and had to send it back twice.The Behringer GMX1200H head is still working just fine and sounds damn good for a SS modeler.

I would buy a nicer 2x12 instead of a cheap 4x12, but I second straycats opinions. The Peavey head is a lot worse than the Behringer head, but both cabs are OK.

If you want something cheap then go for something like this:

You can probably get it for under $200 shipped and it looks really cool

Shop around for a used cab you'll get a much better cab for the money, also if it must be new go to guitar center and lowball em you might get lucky

Used cab is the way to go. I bet you could pick up a used 5150 4 x 12 cab loaded with Sheffields for around $250.00. Carvin makes great cabs that are cheap. I would absolutely recommend going with a 4 x 12 cab though.

Don't forget most 4x12's weigh around 100 lbs so you have to hire someone to help carry it =P

I always wonder how guys like RR got started. There's no way that dude could have carried a 4x12.

If you really have no friends, you can buy a handtruck at Home Depot for $20. Then you just basically have to lift it into the van, with the bumper and van or truck bed floor for leverage. No dealing with the full weight.

And imagine the bass players reading this and thinking what pussies we are when they had to move SVT cabinets.

When I toured with Twisted Sister we would have to fight the roadies off!! They all wanted to help to get into the show and hook up with the ladies.
There is no replacement for a 4 x 12 cabinet or cabinets when you are playing metal live. 2 x 12 cabs are great too but they can't hang with 4 x 12's in a live and loud metal setting. Get yourself a 4 x 12 and stop being such a chick about it.

If I was looking for something with that kind of money, I'd go for a nicer used 2x12 rather than a cheap, new 4x12.

Look for used Carvin Legacy or an Avatar or something of the sort.

The Behringer's aren't necessarily bad, but they're not good by any stretch of the imagination.
