Its a clip from a Paul Gilbert instructional where he talks about presence....presents?Tone is like Art: Your opinion is valid. Listen, learn, have fun, draw your own conclusions.

Whenever I was using my 5150 head you could easily tell when you turned the knob and I usually didn't turn it up very loud at all (excluding band practice).
I've always described it as adding more bite to your tone. I usually had it turned up quite a ways (not full though) and the resonance was almost always at maximum.

On the 2203, the presence control should be the "blast" control. I love it. I have it set on 10, 11 is just too much.Scott
Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.

My JCM 600 has a presence too and it's great to adjust for cutting through the mix.
