  • the G-Flex it is

    my rig transformation is complete!

I just grabbed a minty Genz Benz G-Flex 2x12 off the Bay, I had almost got it two days ago but his reserve was a tad high then. he relisted it today and we compromised with his new BIN . I considered the Avatar contemporary V30 2x12, but held out for the G-Flex, since so many rave about its full-size sound and big bottom end.

so now my rig will be the Carvin V3 into the G-Flex with the GT-8 in the loop (should sound badass for my first tube rig) and somehow I'll figure out how to work the midi switching for all of it.

....once it all gets here. until then nothing to do but

I've heard good things about the Genz Benz G-Flex 2x12 due to it being a ported cab. Let us know how you like it.

          $360 plus shipping.
I was hoping to pay somewhat less than that, but there haven't been a whole lot of them up lately and this one was pretty new and in mint condition, with no tolex tears/scuffs at all, so I bit.

Great rig you're gonna' be more than pleased! Save for another G-flex and you'll have everything covered. One cab for smaller rooms, 2 cabs stacked in a 4x12 configuration for larger venues.

I'm a very happy and proud owner of one.
Not only monster low end BUT it does it all really well.

Give yourself alittle bit of volume and just do some low E and some A string
riffs and chords and you'll hear and feel bottom end.
Don't forget to do some dive bombs with your floyd.
Don't let the note bottom out(pressing down on the bar to fast) so to speak,
instead lightly ease the floyd down and hear that bottom end carry.
When I did it with my G-Flex it vibrated/shook my ear drums.
I loved it and like a crazy man, I let out a enthusiastic yell of excitement and celebration.

As far as my rig rig goes, my G-Flex is the essential backbone.
No matter what in the rack changes the G-Flex stays.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.
