I tried using the low output 4 the ultra channel, and it does make a difference. I like it. thanks

the choice of git makes a big diff. my 750xls sound great through it, but the lp standard sounds killer!

it's a decent amp for the money. btw, i prefer it to the mesa mark III i had.

for gigging in the bedroom, it suits me fine. I will upgrade when the financial time is right

Joe isnt the only one using the JSX. Too many bands to list are using it with awesome results. Like I said tone is subjective. Either you hate the amp or love it until you love it so much you start to hate it because you found a better sounding amp. Kinda like women huh?

When the JSX first came out, Satriani did some clinics where he'd play through JSX amps and tout them... then autograph them and they would be sold. Stock amps. I heard clips of him at one of them - sounded like him live, for better or for worse. I doubt his amps are getting that much modifications, the dude still likes using the Boss DS1 pedal in front of everything he uses!

Regarding the JSX - I thought mine was a great sounding amp, just got bored with it. I don't want to whip out the amp pedigree thing, but I've played or owned most of the 'good stuff' out there, and the JSX properly set up and dialled in runs with the big dogs. Then again, tone is subjective...

How would you rate the overdrive channel on the OD-100SE compared to other amps you have played?

            Thanks

i saw the G3 tour this year and really dug Joe's live sound.

I think more ppl would like the JSX if it didn't say Peavey on it. My $.02

It is very good. It is a bit too refined for my tastes though.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

Yes, it looks cool as hell. I only got to play through one for 2 minutes at low volumes. I've heard great things about it though.

Really? It didn't affect my decision much - if anything it is a positive. Peavey has a long history of building affordable high quality products.

Also, I don't seem to recall anyone having any issues with playing a 5150. Or?

it didn't affect mine at all either. I like the XXX too. For a lot of folks on the equipment forums, if it isn't boutique, retro, or $$$, it isn't worthy.

The 5150? It's retro, man. Retro (in Billy Ray Valentine voice)

The only thing wrong with some of the Peavey products is they are poorly designed as far as serviceability goes. They have made quite a few disposable amps that are a pain in the ass to fix - on the upside, they don't break down all that much. Don't know about the JSX, though.

I have been abusing my XXX for years...It is thrown in the back of my Blazer at the very least, twice a week for the pased 4 years...Had a few tumbles too...lol.

As far as serviceability goes...Tubes change and bias very easy...anything beyond that would be taken into the shop anyhow...But I don't see what makes it hard to sevice...
