      ^ what he said; unless you're replacing it with an identical transformer, don't expect it to necessarily sound/feel just like your old amp.

        I decided to fix the Laney, but no - I'm not getting an identical transformer..It's going to be fun to hear what it sounds like..If it sounds like crap then I'll sell it..

          +1 on the choke upgrade. If you are going as far as doing the tranny then go all the way and do the choke too.

              It looks like a small transformer and its usually right next to the output trans. Again, Mercury Mag makes very good chokes to match the output transformers.

              Its a little texy, but you'll get more than enough info there.
