  • Quick Ohm question?? Im an idiot.

At the risk of sounding too paranoid. Im running two 16 ohm cabs plugged into two separate outputs on my amp. What should I set the ohm load on the amp to. This is the first time running the full stack. I gotta gig tonight. Any advice appreciated. I am guessing 8 ohms?

    8

    Edit:
It's a tube amp i take it.. if so, yes... 8 ohms is the proper setting for running two 16 ohm cabs.

Another quicky question before fully committing to that number 8.

The amp is mono correct? If so, yes... 8 still stands.
If it's stereo (i.e. two independent mains) it would be 16 ohms.

Here are the specs for your amp.
So yes... if you use two 16 ohm cabs, you need to set it to 8 ohms.

            MAIN EXT IMPEDANCE
            SPKR SPKR SETTING
            16Ω + None = 16Ω
            16Ω + 16Ω = 8Ω
            8Ω + None = 8Ω
            8Ω + 8Ω = 4Ω
            4Ω + None = 4Ω
