That is funny! Daughters always win... Hey, how about a cheaper
Peavey stereo rack amp? Thats what ive used in the past, 100 watts
per side. Couldnt you do the same thing, with say a $160 SS rack amp?
True stereo? I have single genz benz cabs with Celestion G12H inside,
and this allows me to either use my G-dec for drum tracks (not using the
10" inside the G30) but going out into a 12" celestion. Then i use my
VHT 4/12 for left... 2 Crate 2/12's for the right channel? Just a thought,
but not portable like your.... Desk!

That is a good idea, Robert.

This was a LOW budget project. I had the plywood and the computer speakers, so the only items I had to go out and buy were the speaker grille and the casters.

In fact, I am also planning to put together a more traditional, power amp/cab setup as well, along the lines you suggest. I have a Vox AD120VTX Valvetronix 2-12" combo that is in for repair, and if the shop can't fix it, I am planning to get a cheap, solid state stereo power amp and mount it in the cabinet, connected to the existing speakers. That's Stage 1.

Then, when I get the $ for Stage 2, I will get a ToneLab LE, which should put me back into the same sounds I had when my Valvetronix was working. (I like my XTL, but I loved the sound of that Vox).

THEN, when I get the $ for Stage 3, I will get another 2x12" cab (probably an Avatar) and be able to spread the 2 cabs out for a bigger stereo field.
