It sounds kinda liike a Dumble inspired Vox, rather than what you would expect from a Vox. The red control plate is bright red plastic and looks really cheap, they sell very well at my pro shop. Good players make it really sing in a Robben Fordish way without his nasally tone. The owners of the shop opened it up and said it was a bargain considering the work that goes into ech one. If you would be hoping for a classic JMI tone, this is not it and wasn't meant tto be. To me, they are like Divided by 13s. You have to suit the personality of the amp and pay with fluidity, or the magic is lost. Professor May is no slouch.
