Is it possible to mod an amp that's got a solo boost function to a gain boost function? Here's one of the amps I've got, a Tech 21 Trademark 300. It's three programmable channels (active eq) of Fender, Marshall and Mesa tones. It sounds great, but I still could use a little more gain without having to use an OD pedal to boost it. It's got a footswitchable solo boost, which is basically a clean boost that just changes your volume level up to an extra 9bD. Notice the boost pot on the amp, next to the master volume. Is there a way this can be modded for an extra gain stage and eliminate the volume boost?
