Any Simul Class power section will take 2 6L6's and 2 EL34's. None of them came from the factory that way (unless perhaps someone ordered one like that...it was not standard).

My 88 MkIII came with both 6l6/el34 from the factory.
          750xl, 88LE, AT1, Roswell Pro, SG-X, 4 others...
Stilletto Duece 1/2 Stack, MkIII Mini-Stack, J-Station, 12 spaces of misc rack stuff, Sonar 4, Event 20/20, misc outboard stuff...

Why do I still want MORE?

Mesa must have ran out of 6L6's that day :ROTF:

Well I got this thing dialed in with an MXR 10 band EQ in the loop , really getting a good
Dream Theater "Train of Thought" tone.
I'm going to keep both amps around for a while, as I get a much more "Marshally" type of tone out of the JSX.

I still haven't played around with the Boss ME-50 in the loop of it yet, but I may not bother with that for a while.
I think the next amp I will check out will be either a Mark III or a Mark IV.
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

Try a Rivera M series or S series too if you get a chance. I just picked one up and it gets some really nice Mark series tones as well as some Marshall tones too. I am really diggin it. It won't be replacing the rectoverb but it has some really boogie tones.

Hey, is that the 3/4 back 2 x 12 with the 90's in it? I've been debating to get one for my 5:50 but wondering how it would sound with the speaker mix because of the Vintage 30 in my Mesa. I had it hooked up to a 2 x 12 closed back at the local shop and it sounded killer, doubled the sound!

Lucklily I can get the tone I am looking for with keeping the master down and using a clean boost in front, so I may be OK. I don't even need the EQ in the loop so that simplifies things.

The Mesa cab is a recto 2X12 with V30's in it.
the Avatar cab I bought empty and put 2 Mesa C90's in it.
                        they sound pretty killer together.

You oughta try throwing a V30 and a C90 in the same cab. Sounds great.

That's actually on my list of "to dos".
some people have told me they love that combo , and some have told me it doesn't work well.
The RoadKing 4X12's have them mixed , so somebody must think they sound good together.
I think the 2 cabs run together sound pretty cool.
the 2 amps run together sound great.

Thats a common problem with all Recto's. They sound the best with nothing in the loop. Same thing with Soldano's.
That is the only reason I don't use either live. Marshall's on the other hand.. are extremely loop friendly. 5150's are loop friendly too.
