Diamond Memorylane Vs. Eventide timefactor.
Mamory Lane $425 CND
I purchased the Diamond unit about 3 1/2 weeks ago... I was sadly disapointed to say the least. It had two sounds (both were good mind you). The slap-back on the Diamond unit was warm and fantastic sounding. If you don't want slap-back then you are forced into run away feedback(fun). There seems to be no middle ground. Even with the expression pedal I could not tame the beast.
The unit sounded great but I found the sweet spot of delay to be missing.
Eventide Timefactor $425 CND
Immediately this unit sounded great. The pre-sets were all a player would really need. There are 11 knobs on the thing(and several switches). I turned the knobs... therefore I am.
I was able to replace my old Roland DEP 3 for my Manhattan sound (and save it) in about 40 seconds. The fidelity is impeccable. I turned up the gain and within seconds found a nice "Cliffs" tone. I can't play "Cliffs" to save my life but I now have the sound available.
This is the unit to own.
Eventide beats Diamond in the first round.
P.S. I'm Canadian and Diamond is made in Canada too. I was prejudiced in my decision.
regards,
Graham
