  • My MIJ DD-2 pedal began to smoke.

So, I hadn't used my Digital Delay pedal(80's, and beat to death) for some time. When I decided to plug it in and stomp on it, I noticed a smell and it began to smoke lightly. I instantly un-plugged it and haven't touched it since. Is there a place who fixes these? I've seen the "keeley mod" for many pedals and wondered if it's A. Cheaper and easier to buy another one,or B. Fix it.

    Thanks in advance!

Wow, I haven't heard of any boss pedals smoking before. I'd open it up and see what's burned 1st and email Keeley about it, or post a pic here and maybe someone here could help.

Well, the pedal's so great that it smokes!
      I wish my hair-color was EDS :/

Maybe a mouse crawled in there and got burned up.

Nah that only happens with old amps.

It actualy did to a bandmate of mine when I was about 17. His Dad bought & sold instruments and he'd turn up with whatever was around that week. One week he showed up with a Hofner semi-acoustic bass (this was in about '77) and an amp that was probably a Silvertone, that was like a tweed covered half-stack with a head that stowed in the back of the speaker cabinet.

Anyhow, ho powered it up and after we'd been playing for about ten minutes we noticed this awful stench and wisps of smoke coming out of the back of the amp head. We switched it off and had a look. There was a slightly singed dessicated mouse corpse wrapped around one of the power valves.

            Lovely.

Anyhow, good luck with the pedal. Did you have it hooked up to a power supply?
