I could take a shit and put it in a $20.00 box with a pretty little bow and it's still be a box of shit.

      Great for a metallica coverband.

Hey, why not put a tube screamer in it, like Marshall placed a EQ in their Kerry King signature.

I'm telling you guys, forget Kirk and that sig amp and just get a regular Randall RM100 then go to town with your choice of various modules, including the KH ones. It really is a nice sounding amp!

Give me the Lynch box. Kirk is nearly as big of a whore as George. But George has at least done something notable int he last decade.

RD; Thats hilarious! A friend of mine is a tech and right now has a Randall solid state head on his bench for repair that is driving him nuts. I'll give this picture to him, awesome timing :ROTF:
On a more serious note, the RM 100 tube head is basically an Egnater and lots of really cool features especially for gigging musicians.

Whomever buys that $10K amp; I have a bridge to sell them.

Take your pick: Brooklyn, Queensboro, or Williamsburg bridges.
Act now and I'll throw in the midtown tunnel.

I printed that pic out and it is now framed and hanging at my friend's shop. He thought it was funny too and you have no idea how good this came up timing wise in relation to the Randall head he was working on. In fact I took a picture of him in the shop with the picture hanging there which I'll have to download and post tomorrow

Is it true though that amp techs who work well with tube amps don't necessarily know jack about SS? I sent my old Laney Tubefusion 2x12" to get fixed by a reputable local amp tech, everyone who sent tube amps to him had nothing but praise for him, but he couldn't bloody manage to fix mine... A real pity, it was the best damn hybrid amp I've ever played for the price, but those reliability/repair issues have kept me from acquiring another one

I have not heard that before. I would think its all electronics, one happens to have tubes as part of the deal while the other does not. My friend is good at reading the schematics and tracing problems. Its time consuming but depending on the symptoms I think that clues him in on where to start or what to suspect. Sometimes people bring him really old and abused stuff, at times 2 units of the same thing and tell him to make one good unit out of the mess! Sometimes he does and sometimes the stuff is just so wasted its not really practical to do it.
