  • Recommend a Good Amp Tech in Chicago, IL

    Hi Everyone,

I have a Marshall Artist 3203 - and the volume goes in and out on it.

I turned it on this weekend - it was in storage for 13 years.

I cleaned the 1/4" jacks and the knobs with electrical cleaner. The amp did get better - but still cuts in and out.

Does anyone know a qualified Tube Amp place in Chicago, IL?

    thanks for your help.

Before taking it to a tech, try some new tubes. That said, if it was stored away that long it's best have a tech go over it with a fine tooth comb anyway, as things like filter caps can suddenly blow or go bad, and that tends to turn into a major headache.

      Thanks.

I was thinking of changing the tubes myself - but then I said mines well just take it in and have a professional look at it. Just in case it needed additional maintenance.

I'd like to hear from you.
