You've obviously never had to try and run sound before have you? More DOES NOT mean better.

well, the straight ones are on backorder from Germany right now so I guess I'll have to wait a few weeks before I get it anyway.
Btw Bill, the Engl 412 XXL cab has a straight face and slanted baffle
Oversized cab (9 cm taller than regular) and V30's. However being on the heavyside on the mids, the Blackmore took much more liking to the V60's in the standard cab than the V30's so I'm a bit apprehensive about the XXL though I'm sure the bottom end is huge in those!

I used to have a full stack and I noticed a difference in the bottom end. I know everything was wired correctly, but I think the difference came from having the speakers right in my ear. To me, it felt like I had less bottom end. It probably had to do with the fact that I had to turn down a bit so that it didn't feel like my amp right in my ear.

I also sing some lead and background and having the top cabinet so high made it harder to hear everybody else. I eventually sold the bottom cab and still have the top. I would say that the best was to use a couple of 4x12 would be to keep them on the floor and split them across the room. You get a nice fat rich tone and if you run in stereo it will be the shiznit.
          Damn, I love this Interweb.

I'm with Bill that 1/2 stacks I prefer slants but full I like a combo. If I had just 2 4x12's I go wit 2 slant cabs on the floor.

More is better...fuck the soundman..do the job right no matter how difficult

I like straight Marshall 1960B's with V30's. The more.. the merrier.

I disagree!! My personal experience have been the power gets cut in half, and it don't sound as full! Pushing more air doesn't mean better sound always! I think the best way to go is get a half, and put a powered cabinet below it that has it's own built in amp! It slaves to the preamp of your head at the same time! Massive bottem end!! Or you can put to halfs together! That'll rumble as well!! But more money!! Gotta remember full stacks were designed for outdoor venues, and not because of the punch either

when i used to run multiple 4x12 cabs, i had an extra poweramp that was run from the effects send of my head. are you missing something from your half-stack (tone wise or projection wise)?

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

thanks for the input. those last couple of comments are more in line with my originally posted worries

nothing missing really, just wanting to go big If the tone sucks after adding a cab, I can always get the 530 poweramp and I'll be back in business.

The only way that your tone won't sound as good to you is if you rely on speaker breakup as a key tonal component. Your amp is still putting out 100 watts (the power doesn't get cut in half...not sure where sl2lover came up with that one), but by spreading it out over 8 speakers instead of 4, the speakers are not working quite as hard (but more than half as hard due to the impedance change). If you use higher wattage speakers (75+) you most likely won't notice a big difference. If you use lower wattage speakers like Celestion Greenbacks or similar (25-30) then there will most likely be a noticeable difference.

It is correct to say that pushing more air doesn't necessarily sound better, but it will sound bigger. It depends heavily on your overall rig and tonal preferences.

Well I have five Marshall cabs (celestion 75s) right next to me. I would love to hear ONE Uberkab..I'll get one eventually. Uberkabers say they sound better than a Marshall 1960 cab. I'm really happy with my tone as is..so, that would be great!

I recently picked up an empty Bogner 4x12 cab with Roadcase, I have 4 brand new in the box British made Celestion Greenbacks that I'm going to load it with. Finally I will have a Bogner cab to go with my Uberschall I still want an Uberkab and like Bill, someday I will have one!

I finally found a store close (well still about 500 km, in the UK) that sells em for quite cheap compared to European prices. Might go and get one this summer

Rudy, Sven..yes, I would like to have a matching cab. Rudy..at least that would look pretty bad ass. I always thought you could get away with the "look" of a Marshall cab..like everyone else. Well, they're easy to find!

Oh.. let me know what you think when you dial it in with the Bogner/greenback cab!!
