Hey guys...
I just scored a Spider Valve head for what would amount to about $500USD. Good deal? It's pretty much brand new by the looks of it, the guy is in some sort of financial difficulty it looks like... bugger for him, but great for me!
Anyway, my question is what cab/speakers would be good to run this with? Basically I'm looking for a 2x12" cab. Currently running an older Ashdown Fallen Angel 2x12" combo with V30s, and I'm debating whether I should just run the SV through those speakers, or sell off the combo and get a proper cab.
Someone is selling an old JCM combo that was gutted of the amp unit and converted into a 2x12" cab, running the standard G12-75 things that Marshall puts in those cabs. How would that sound, compared to the V30s? I have limited experience with the amp/speaker part of the equation, I'm sure it shows
