Yeah, and I'm tapping my nightstick against your stupidly long gear list, too!

Ive seen some heavyweights playing Deizels in concert...so they gotta
sound pretty good? Doobie Bros... and i think one of the "Kansas" guys
                      was playing one too?

Hey Ron, wake up! Time to spell-check! Its Diezel, not Deizel guys!

Yeah, Mark Tremonti allegedly still uses a VH4 according to the latest GW.

Diezels are super tube sensitive. A bad tube is the only thing I can think of that would have given the original poster such a bad experience with a VH4.

They are ridiculously expensive, but on the other hand the clean and crunch channels are so good that it's really the only amp a guy needs to cover pretty much everything from jazz to metal.

I'm not trying to be a Diezel cheerleader, but am just mainly curious as to what could of been wrong with that VH4. It's the first time, online or in person, that I've heard someone being disappointed after plugging into a Diezel for the first time.:dunno:

No , joined back in March, just not a heavy poster like some.

RJF, its not the first time we've seen a thread where someone disses a well regarded amp. we've learnt to just ignore it and move along. Not only Diezel amps, almost every tube amp is tube sensitive. Why, I took out all the "highly regarded" JJ preamps and replaced them with cheap Sovtek's the other day. Its given my Mark IV a new growl and the amp is no longer "too smooth".

What sounds great to you might sound like crap to another. Dont worry too much about it. Oh, if no one greeted you already, welcome to the board.
