    Into Stuck Mojo per chance?
uhmmm, forgive my ignorance....but what in the hell is Stuck Mojo?
and for the record(at least until I get the demo tracks uploaded)my band (Sirius Abbott) sounds like an odd cross between Kings-X and ZZ-Top with a bit of System of a Down thrown into the mix

A good friend of mine owned a music store and his number one "used" amp return was the JCM 900. He had a store room full of them. His comment to me was "it's a fine amp, has lots of potential, but no one seems to have the ability or take the time to tweak them to obtain optimum performance."

My first tube amp was a JCM-900 50W hi-gain dual master (you might call it an SL-X, but it didn't say SL-X on it) running through a 1912 cabinet with whatever the stock speaker was. Definitely not a metal amp without some help, but had some very nice tones regardless. It was very punchy yet smooth. As opposed to the Mesa F-series amps, which are just punchy. I sold it because the band broke up and it was useless in an apartment setting.

you make a compelling argument. And with that, we can disregard the considered responses of all other posters in this thread

Marshall 2210..or a much cheaper solid state VS 8100/8200..which is the weapon on choice for Glen Drover/ Chuck Shuldiner amound others.

I have the rack system 9200/JMP-1/JFX-1..but that'll cost ya...and a bitch to lug around unlike a grab N go head.

JCM800 with an overdrive pedal in front.
For rock, classic metal it doesn't get better. For a more modern metal sound, you will only be disappointed.

Depends on what volume you're playing at - a real amp like a jcm900 doesn't sound very good playing by yourself in your bedroom.

                          That's why god invented Line6.
