And I must say, this amp is the cats ass.
Now it sounds thunderous, tons more of gain, where I was running the
gain at 9 before now I have it down to 5-6, and it still sings except now
the gain is nice and clear.
Those Mesa tubes must've been on their last legs.
I put in ruby Winged C 6L6's in the inside pair and JJEl34's on the outside
and simulclass really sounds killer now.
all new pre amp tubes as well.
Sadly for my Rectoverb, as that will now be on it's way out as this is much
more in line with what I've been looking for out of an amp.
I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to get as heavy a tone out of
this as I do with the Rectoverb, but this morning I cranked that sucker up
with one of my 7 stringers in simul class and it sounded just as heavy, but
much sharper and clearer. I threw my modded Boss SD-1 in front of it
(level dimed ,gain off) to add a little more ooomph to it and a little
compression and ripped off some Nevermore riffs and it was shaking the house.
ya this one's a keeper.........................
