No Tim, I never played one. But my friend has and didn't care for it. Well he prefers a flatter radius like the Jem. He started his own 7 string guitar company called "Strickly 7". They just made a Curran Murphy(Nevermore, Anninhilator, Shatter Messiah) sig model, who's going do a demo on youtube with it. Here he is with it..

They asked me to do a youtube demo with this one, more than likely (it looks METAL) . If it had a built glory hole maybe it will will the Bill Z Bub model..I've playing nothing but my Jackson 7 string to get used to it. I'll do a good job.

They make an 8 string too...fuck that!

I was thinking of a Jeff Loomis model..but I don't want to look like a total fanboy. Besides' I'm not crazy about Schecters or ESPs. I'd rather have a Jem..the white one.

The problem with the Ibanez 7 strings is that the necks are so thin my hand cramps up on them. I've had a couple Universes over the years and a Petrucci 7-string. I heard the Loomis had a chunkier neck which really appeals to me.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

I haven't tried the Loomis, but the Schecter 7s have thicker necks in general than Ibanez. I used to have a H/S version of their 007 Elite and really liked it. Loomis also used to use the H/H version of the 007 Elite at one time.

Yeah Joe..that's Jim..one half the biz, My bud Paul is the other half. They said I would get a commision for any geetar they sell, if you drop my name! They had a site up, but it's not availuable anymore. I gotta find out what's going on. I have to touch base with them anywhoo. They're sponsering a guitar contest and giving away a couple of their guitars...and I'm going to take one of those geetars. Curran, Jim and Paul are the judges. I gotta see if that's still goin' on. They make some really nice stuff out of some beautiful woods.

Tim, I didn't care for IBZ necks myself. But since I hurt my neck, the thin necks play better for my nerve damaged pinky and ring fingers..my pinky is completely useless..but I manage.

The Fish is due soon so I've got a bunch of stuff for sale - nothing comes in that isn't funded by stuff going out or gig money and we don't make shit for gig money
I can get a really incredible heavy rhythm tone out of it, but on recording it's way too fat sounding for speed metal.

I cant stand ibanez necks and like the schecters necks. I totally dug my hellraiser7, whereas any wizardy neck (like my talonIV) leaves me with hand cramps if I rythm too much. I tried out a really early Loomis and it was the most substantial sized guitar ever, it felt absolutely massive compared to my slsmg.
Nice neck profile and heel carve, massive frets, good guitar all round imo.

I don't have a rack setup yet, but I've built a rack sized space in my desk ready and waiting for gear to mount in it!

I had an original Fish back in the mid 90's. It was a great preamp but not worth the $ IMO (and back then I think I paid around $1600). I dumped it years ago when they became "collectible" as I had already gone back to my MP1.
