    More bass? Or less?

less. Think of the most brittle tone you can think of and that would be Satch's tone. It actually hurts my ear listening to his songs at the same volume as the other songs on my pod.

I think Satch is a great player, but he taught Kirk Hammett.

I also think a lot of his tone is just in his technique, his hands, the way his pick attacks the strings cause wah type effect. I saw a video of Satch in some dudes house playing a plywood strat through cheap amp yet he still sounded pretty damn good

** Yep i remember that vid! He still sounded great, and it was like he
had his setup with him! (Interesting side note...(or stupidity, on my
part) I just noticed a little knob on the back of my ADA MP-1 "Input
level".. Gee i guess if this was at barely 1... it my be noisy??? Ya think??
I was starving the signal, and therefore hated what the ADA was giving me... Now i have the Input at about 7...output at about 5...and it's 3 times better! (yeah, im something, when it comes to Tech knowledge!!:ROTF: All of the sudden i have a more searing... edgy tone!~ Gee..
maybe i should listen to you guys a bit more??

Robert thats what I run my Intellifex at 7&5 it sounds about the best there. It seems to give me just enough hang time on the delay to get some sweet sustain.

Robert, this was the frustration I used to have with the GT-8. It seemed to have all the tone in the world; yet, if I try to nail a simple tone, I could not! It was so annoying!

satch has always been a clean channel + pedal guy.

Surfing = Kramer alder super strat with JB + chandler tube driver with Marshall 6100 & 1960a cab.

Flying in a Blue Dream = Ibanez Basswood super strat with Fred & Paf Pro + Boss DS-1 with Marshall 6100 & 1960a cab.

current rig, = Ibanez Basswood super strat with Mo Joe & Paf Joe + Vox Satchulator with Peavey JSX & Matching cab.

other effects incluce the Digitech whammy pedal, Dunlop classic Cry Baby, Lexicon delay, chorus, & reverb rack modual, & Di'addario strings.

Ugh, Satch has one of the worst tones IMO. Great player though.

To really get his tone, the JSX is the amp you want. The highest gain channel on there sounded just like Satch Boogie when I tried it out at GC.

** And thats the cheaper Korean screen art one..(around $1350.00)
The Japan limited with the actual "Raised Chrome Silver Surfer is probably about $4800.00? Thats the bad ass one! I dig both of them too! It's just that the one you show, should be about $725.00 imo
