  • Death - Spirit Crusher

Been trying to get some other cool metal tones out of my amp.

I'm using Chuck's tone from the SoP album as a foundation, using a full tube amp.

Framus Dragon boosted with a TS-808 is the gear.

I make a few mistakes, but I'm just tone hunting!

    Sounded pretty good man!
I couldn't quite tell, but it looks like you have an X2N in there. I know Chuck used that pup exclusively and it's one of the keys to his tone.
    So far so good, VHT

Yeah, I put the X2N in a few weeks ago.

Decided to drop a full step and get my Chuck on!

      Thanks for the comment!

I love Chuck's latter tones a lot, but I know that his amps had a solid state power section so I'm trying to get that growling mean tone with that all tube sound.

Oh, you were in D there? Well I cant really hear that stuff on my laptop speakers
I like his latest work as well, especially the Control Denied album with Tim Aymar.
Tim is one of my fav singers. I have all of his stuff. He was sort of local where I'm at.

Sounds to me like you pretty much nailed the tone. Chuck was the real deal. I also went to D tuning recently just to take a break and it's been pretty fun. I've been using 9s but should probably be using a set of 10s. The 9s are a little "slappy".

                      Thanks Danno!

I too am having fun in D.

Been playing a lot of stuff I love to listen to that's been challenging me a lot.

Bodom is real fun to play.

Hard to tell with the background music... Seems cool...

Of course ironic that you're using a $1300 amp to mimic a $250 Marshall VS...
