  • Fender RocPro1000 head mods?

Anyone know of any mods for the Fender RocPro1000 head?

    Besides replacing it?

there is a reliability or maintenance mod that can be done to keep it from blowing like its prone to do stock. but other than that, just trying differet preamp tubes.

Matt, I'm not sure, but i'll ask my friend Paul, because he's really into his alot.
He is getting so close to an Yngwie sound it's unreal! Of course the 'Yng used that on the Concerto album, so thats why.

Very nice, smooth sounding head and very underrated and underpriced. I think he grabbed his for $100. He also has the RocPro combo amp as well.

Thanks. I got mine for like $250-$260 used a few years ago. Not sure if it's stock or not.

I used to use it live with my Digitech TSR12 for fx and a Carvin VE212 2x12 cab. Not a bad head for a 2-guitar band where one doesn't need a ton of gain, and it had enough boost in the Lead channel for decent solo tone.

I need to clean it though - last time I used it the knobs were kinda scratchy. Just figured I'd see what else could be done while I had it apart.

For around 2400 bucks you can mod it to sound exactly like a Bogner Ecstasy....
