Thank you, stray!
The Hammond chassis I used is 16" wide.
Rackmount?
Mmm, I would not classify this as that kind of amp.
Not something to be daisy chained in a rack.
It is designed to stand on its own, as a recording/practice head.
I get the feeling you're looking for a good tube power amp, right?
I have some 6550's that would serve well in a power amp structure.

OK I got your P.M and understand about this amp.
Yeah 6550 powered is what I'm looking for.High wattage not really 18-25 watts is cool, lower watts could give better tone overall.
I'm looking for nice fat bottom end push and nice cleans.Adjustment for bass treble and mids.
I like the old Boogies,Marshalls and Laney's if that helps.
The chain will be a Jackson JX-3 stereo pre-amp, intellifex then into the amp.Last edited by straycat; 01-11-2009, 11:07 PM.Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I'll draw up a design for a stereo SEL with each 6550 running single ended.
It would be stereo out, mono input. Not too bad, it would require two output transformers. Five tubes with a tube driven effects loop.
If you want stereo through...big bux.
This would require 4 preamp tubes, 12 pots, 2 output trannies, two inputs.
Another tube for an effects loop. Reaching into 1,000 dollar territory real quick
with all those parts!
It would be easier to just buy two SEL's.

I "blind tested" it to make sure it was not a sign in issue.
In other words, I logged out and clicked the link, and it showed up.
If I could upload it here, I would.
I have Soundclick, but farked if I know how to use it.
Any good suggestions?
I don't play worth a flip, but enough to show what it does sound like...
Thanks, TJ. I appreciate the prop!
