In my limited experience with 212 tube combos (especially 100 watters), "light & transportable" isn't the first thing that comes to mind. My Mesa F-100 is a bear to move around - thank God I don't gig.

A Marshall 412 cab is easier to lug around than a Mesa 412 though - that I DO know. If I was in your situation, I'd stick to the head/cab situation. Pick up a Marshall 1936 cab, or something like it. They're fairly light, and if you add some castors, life is good!

My home rig is a Zinky Blue Velvet 50 combo into a 1x12 64' Fender Bassman cab. It's perfect for small bars. I'm always excited to get it out and run live with it but when decision day comes, I still opt for the 4X12 & rack setup in the band trailer. It's still easier to wheel that in a bar than to carry my stuff from home. This year I vow I'm going to get the home rig out and see what is does live, loud, and proud.
