I need to mess with the vyper some more.

I got the Marshall single channel stuff covered.

I'm guessing it's transistor since it has Chorus. what the hell, I'll give it a try.

hmm; well if that one is too loud, the mg15ms2 is great-sounding, even at low volume. i have one at home and one at the rehearsal studio, and love the tone.

I tried a Vyper recently and for what it is, it sounds great. I would definitely check it out if I were you.

I did give the Zakk micro stack a quick tour. Is that the same amp?

pretty much. i think that his has circle graphics on the head and cabs, and they charge you like $50 more.

it is transistor but it sound good.Especially at low volumes. I have two tube heads but the volume needed to get them to sound good is no good for late night practice. Sometimes i use a tube preamp in front of the Fender if i really want that tube sound but it is a very versatile amp. Clean, blues, Rock, Metal. Nice limiter and reverb too. It has 2 10's and when you get the clean channel going with the stereo chorus and the reverb it sounds sweet.

why not run your pod thru your micro stack? use only one cab. in my apt, ive got a GNX running into an old marshall master lead 30. most of the time i have the volume on the amp set just below 2, EQ basically flat & use the GNX for all the tone or lack of.

After trying out many small practice amps I finally settled on the Vox AD30VT. I can get all kinds of sounds outta this little thing. For a low volume practice amp I couldn't be happier!

Cool I was also going to recomend the AD30 or VT 30, I plan to get the VT30 at some point fora quieter practise Amp I bought a Blackstar HT-5 but the Cleans arent loud enough or Clean enough....

I have always found the vox's to sound good even with minimal tweaking in store, I really dont like the spider II/I's even when they are tweaked to sound thier best they still lack something for me.....

Vox's are definately a good and warm sounding alternative, they also excell in the low/mid gain tones where imo the line 6 stuff just cant cope as well with...

I could try that, but I thought the Marshall Micro Stacks would color the sound too much and I'd end up with mud. I was thinking the POD needed a clean bright (tube?) amp because it sounds very good through my decent quality Sony headphones.

I'd really like to compare my Micro Stacks against a Vox and Cube side-by-side to see who would win.

Another choice gaining momentum is to get off my lazy ass and build a low watt 2203 into one of my Micro Stack heads. I've already yanked the SS stuff, but just need to build the tube circuit. I have the trannies and parts. I've been doing a lot of research lately on how to finish this project.

I went through the gammut of small amps again last night. Vox AD30VT, VT30, VT15, Cube 30 (not the 30x), Marshall MG15DFX, Peavey Vyper, Line 6 Spider 30 and 75.

There are so many good little amps out there it's a really hard decision. Why the F didn't they have these back in 1985 when I was stuck with a Gorilla TC-25?

Originally I wasn't going to consider an amp with less than a 10" speaker, but the little Vox VT15 sounded really good. I'm curious now as to how a Cube (Micro?) with smaller speakers would sound.

Yep, I'm thinking the Vox might be the best compliment to my POD. The Vox has a Line In, so I need to try it with my POD.

I'm curious to more people who've compared the old AD30VT to the new VT30 and see what they think. I think I liked the newer amp.

I tried out a Micro Cube yesterday. For the size, it really sounded great. I'm really thinking about picking one... Cool that it can be battery powered as well
