Believe it or not, my first "real" guitar amp was a Line 6 AX212. I had that thing humming. All my different tones I wanted were at my disposal. Gilmour, Clapton, EVH. This amp did it all and was very easy to set. I even had it divided into banks for each guitar I had at the time.

    But noooooo....

My friend offered to buy it from me and I foolishly sold it after buying a Fender Deluxe Reverb. I didn't even need the money. When I came to my senses and realized my mistake, he had already sold it.

Since then I've gone from small amps, big amps, rack setups, pedals, rack effects, you name it. I even had a Vetta II for a while but realized I wasn't smart enough to use it. Way too many things to tweak there. But I've yet to recapture the simple magic of the AX212.

That's the one. My buddy worked at the music store and got one when they first came out. He convinced me to get one too and I never regretted it.

I had one of those. Got it super cheap off ebay, and it really was a great amp. Loud as fuck too.

funny that amp should come up. do you remember what that head cost you? i just got offered a carvin full stack for what i think is a steal. he described it to me and i think its an 88 x100A w/ matching slant and straight cab.

to join the thread.....i dont really regret much of the amps i sold off due to the fact that i always upgraded. the only one i kinda regret is my first bv120 cause it was my first tube amp and chances are i sold it for cheap cause i thought it was f**kd but probably just needed tubes. yes, like someone else said the ignorance of youth

What amp or amps have you sold or traded that you really regret getting rid of? I'll start...

My snakeskin Soldano SLO100 clone. I would love to get it back.
I sold it to a local JCF'r and I would certainly like to get that amp back.

Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Tremoverb head
Mesa Boogie Mark III Purple Stripe head
I miss that SLO100 clone too, but as you see, I found a decent replacement

You don't miss the Rivera? I was seriously considering buying that thing off you, but every time I have the cash for something like that, I see something cheaper like my Carlsbro, and I just can't bring myself to shell out $2-3k for an amp. I guess I'm a cheap bastard. :ROTF:

Cool amp but I liked the Lightning a bit more with its reverb and seperate bass/treble controls vs a single tone control. Very similar amps though.

That said, I regret getting rid of my Lightning. I love my Chieftain but I have to run it LOUD to get the goods...the Lightning was more "soundman friendly"
