A word of caution about tube amps

    His amp may be fine after all these years but the tubes will run down prematurely if you power up in full play mode. The power tubes especially need a warm up period, not allowing for that you will quickly lose the tube's ability to perform to full potential.

      yeah, I know. I do keep telling him to let it warm up a bit, but he never listens. But the point is that you can do all sort of "dont's" and still get a lot of life out of newer tube-amps and get away with it. But bringing 'em up without speakers attached is a big no-no.
