I would agree with the Mesa Mark responses. You should be able to get one for a pretty good price, especially considering alot of folks will be dumping theirs to pick up a Mark V. If you don't need a clean channel or plan on using outboard processing, I would suggest a Soldano Avenger or VHT Deliverance. All the amps I mentioned have plenty of gain, have an aggressive voicing and they are all pretty good at showing your mistakes if that's what you're looking for.

So.. I thought of an idea recently and I guess some JCF input would be great. I mentioned earlier that my price range was about 1-2grand, but I don't have that yet.. I'm pretty good with saving money and I pay for all of my own expenses, the only problem would be, once I would save up that amount of money, it would be very hard for me to spend it. So I thought about financing an amp to build credit, with money I already have and would just continue to do payments..
Any suggestions? Should I avoid that or go with it?Originally posted by horns666The only thing I choke during sex is, my chicken..especially when I wanna glaze my wife's buns.

Save it up, and blow it man. Blow it hard. A good amp is a purchase that will give you umpteen billion hours of entertainment, and good tone is worth its weight in gold dipped supermodels. I spent a large chunk on a JSX down here (shits expensive!) and its one of the greatest things to put money in. Tone brings zen. Can't put a price on it!

Holy shit man, I just checked out a few clips on youtube, and those sound great for the 80's rock and lead shit, I want to try one now, hopefully they'll be good for "death" metal.Originally posted by horns666The only thing I choke during sex is, my chicken..especially when I wanna glaze my wife's buns.

I'm still not sure what I want to do when the time comes.. I'm starting to lean more towards the side of buying w/ cash.. I've been craigslisting and there are some great amps going for dirt cheap, when new they're skyrocketing. I really would like a Marshall for the leads, but the rhythm really doesn't seem tight and heavy enough.. The Mesa Mark IV's have such a phenomenal rhythm tone IMO, the lead is a little thin though.. Ahhh, the dilemma!!Originally posted by horns666The only thing I choke during sex is, my chicken..especially when I wanna glaze my wife's buns.

You guys are all recommending some great amps, but when it comes to gigging and playing a lot of different music, you need something with versatility. Just keep that in mind when you do eventually buy something.
