If you want a new one faster, try ordering one from an authorized dealer.
I got mine from Bil Jones at the Fret Garage:

It only took 6 weeks, in fact I got it a week earlier than I thought I
would. And Bil's a way cool guy to deal with. He'll do right by you.
As for the amp itself, I haven't played anything else since I got the
Splawn, and those unplayed amps include Mesas and an ENGL rack
    setup...

Although that Nitro that Nateb posted is prolly best suited for my wankery. Kinda sounds like what I dial up @ home.
Thanks horns666,i hope to have my production SD1 by next week so it should
      sound even better!!

I was thinking the same thing. I use a multi effects unit in the loop that has a volume input control so i run my amp on 4 or 5 and adjust the input volume on the effects to control overall volume of the amp. For times when I don't have the effects hooked up or if I just am using pedals that don't have a volume control I bought one of those volume control boxes for about $20. The volume pot on the new amps is a nice feature but not a must have.

            You guys are fags!!

Thanks for making me spend a half an hour at the Splawn site. At least I know about all the models and options.

I'll take the Nitro with sovtek KT88s for $1950 please.

I'd sure like to A/B that beotch next to my Uber. I just found out new versions of those on youtube 2009 NAMM

Hey Boz, My main geetar for almost 15 years is my '95 re-issue SD-1 Koa w/ Floyd...cool! I have another '95 SD-III green quilt top over walnut, which is still new because I never play the bastid..it's too purdy.

              Bill,

I have one coming in on this Saturday. Myself and Darksaga are going to be doing some comparisons between my Uber, the New Nitro, and his Engl and another friends Quickrod with a couple of different cabinets and effects. I'll try to write something up.

I suppose so but I don't use any effects. I just plug straight in. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Awesome Nate! Hell, I wish I could be there!! If you guys add a Deizel to that mix it would cover all the amps I'd need to hear...ever!

Nate..you gotta represent "Uber". You know what to do. The EQ section is insanely interactive. My settings changed pretty dramatic with preamp tube swap.

Personally, I don't like JJ 12ax7s for the Uber. Maybe swap a couple from amp to amp..just put 'em back. It does make quite a difference.

That Nitro clip kinda sounds like my Bogner/Marshall together! Lots of girth with lots of chirpage for pinging!

But Billz, you completely forgot the Johnson Millenium on your list of amps to compare.

                          OK,

Just to let you all know I got the Nitro in. Currently the Beast is hooked up to a 4x12 Mesaboogie Rectocab. I got it last Friday and I would like to say a couple of things about this amp right off the bat....

First of all. I about blew the fucken cat right out of the house when I turned that thing on. There is only two of the four EL34's in it(seller did inform me of this) and it is running in 50 watt mode and this thing moved the lunch that was sitting in my stomach. Thankfully it was 3:45 and nobody was around so... Let er rip.... I played it completely dry and it has this signing overtone that is really nice. You bend a note and it just cries at you. Along with that, it has a really good bottom end. I really was the one crying because I knew right off the bat that this amp was going to be a problem. I live in a condo. Albeit, the people around me are totally cool but, I knew that playing this monster in my home would not be the nicest thing to do to the people around me.

First thing I did the next day... bought a THD Hot plate (AKA Tube Killer) and plugged that fucker inline and it did help but, some of the lush tone got sucked out of it. I need to spend some time with it. Day after Easter, Darksaga comes on over and starts noodling around with it. He brought over his rack because tearing mine down would have just been a pain in the dickhole. We used the i/o levels of the G Major to bring down the volume a little bit more into the bedroom levels and it sounded really good that way.

So far, time will tell with this one. I need to get this somewhere where I can crank it (Like the middle of the desert.) First impression is that this thing has TONS of gain on tap, an just some great tone. As for my Uberschall....That thing aint going anywhere. It's funny to say but, the thing is a lot more friendly and usable in the house right now. Bedroom volumes from that thing are a lot more obtainable with the experience I have had with it so far. WHat I really need to do is just tear it down, put the splawn in its place and hook up my rack to it and see how things go. I need to figure out the channel switching with the G-Major first. That I am not looking forward too.
