Soldano amp's

I have a Mesa MarkIV and Dual Recto, but I'm looking for something new.
I've been looking at the Soldano Avenger 100w no fx loop,
and the Avenger 50w no fx loop.
I would love to get the SLO100 but I don't not have that kind of money.

Any one own the Avenger? good amp for down tuned metal?
100w or 50w?

Great amp. I havGreat amp. Not sure about the downtuned metal though. I played a 7 string through one for a while but I never tuned down below d with a 6 string with it. The 7 was tuned standard. It was a great amp and very articulate so if that is what you need out of an amp then it is a great choice for all metal.

Was it the 100W or the 50W?

Down Turned Metal = SLO-100 with Depth Mod. Just make sure your cabinet can handle it. I blew up a Marshall 4 X 12 with Greenbacks, just after the back panel vibrated right off the back of the cab!:ROTF: Ground shaker!

Maybe you could get Mike to put the depth mod on an Avenger?

Edit: OOOOH, the Avenger comes with the Depth Control! I just checked. Hold on to your speakers!
