  • Blown fuse on amp

I blew a fuse in my Stilleto tonight. I was playing and heard a loud fizzling sound through my cab and that was it. I know that there are many reasons why this could've happened, but would it be safe to assume that I had a power tube go bad on me? The amp still has the stock Mesa EL34's in there and I was planning on replacing them anyway, so it wouldn't be a big deal if that was the case.

Since we are talking about power tubes, has anyone tried E34L's in an EL34 based amp? I hear they are supposed to be a mix of an EL34 and a 6L6.

It's most likely a power tube.

I have EL34Ls tubes but haven't used them . This is the first time I've heard that they are a mix of 6L6 and EL34.
