Ohm Matching?

Hi Guys,

Ordered a Uberschall halfstack from a local dealer, the UberKab has arrived, the head will be here in a few weeks.

In the meantime, I want to try some of my existing amps with the UberKab. In particular, my Marshall DSL 201 combo, which has been my main amp.

It has a 16 ohm connection between the "head" section of the combo and the speaker. The UberKab is 8 ohm.

How do I "match" the two?

Buy another Uberkab and wire them in series. Then proceed to flatten the house with the rig of doom!

(Disclaimer: actually I don't now whether the Uberkabs have two jacks so you can connect them in a chain...)

Seriously, I guess your scenario won't work out if neither the DSL nor the cab have any option to change the impedance.

doesnt your dsl have other outputs other than a 16ohm? or maybe a switch where you can change it? i ask because both my amps have both 8 and 4 ohm out so i can link it to either 4 or 8 ohm cabs.

never owned a dsl so i dont know unfortuneatley

the 401 has an impedance selector & 2 speaker outs. The 201 does not

If the cab had a higher ohm rating than the head, you could use it. Unfortunately, you never want to run an amp into a cab with a lesser ohm rating...in this case 16 for the amp and 8 for the cab. Your UberKab is furnature until your head arrives

Just sell your DSL 201 immediately! Once the Uber head arrives you'll never so much as look at that DSL again
