  • Great sounding amp alert...

Did a benefit gig last night. Several other bands. One of the guitarists in one of the band was using a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4 x 10 combo using the clean channel with a Boss Metal Zone out in front. He had a delay, tuner and a volume pedal in the loop.
His sound was outstanding. It wasn't scooped at all. It just goes to show you.. there are alot of great metal tones to be had if you have the right combination. He was playing a BC Rich Mockingbird with stock BC Rich logo'd pickups.

That's an amp that would sound great with the "more gain" channel pushed for sure - but probably more the 2x12 rather than the 4x10. I've always liked them.

Chris, it might have been the 2 x 12. I didn't look in the back. If the 2 x 12 version is the same physical size as the 4 x 10 then that is probably what it was.

I'm pretty sure that the Deville comes in both a 4x10 and a 2x12 model.

The 4x10 is usually slimmer and slightly taller.

It was very square and on the taller side
