Yeah, well I'm selling off all my other gear. I did the math and figured that if I did sell everything, worst case I would be able to buy 2 but I'm happy as heck that I won't have to buy any other processors or preamps. I'm still blown away at how it feels just like a tube amp. It's a dream come true. All the tone and feel of tubes with none of the hassle.

I drank another pitcher of the Fractal Audio Kool-Aid and ordered a 2nd Ultra tonight. I need to have one upstairs and one downstairs or the Feng Shui of our home will be off.

Man.. What luck... I just happened to have an old FCB1010 that UNO chipset installed on it. With this chipset, it allows you to reprogram the pedalboard so that I can use the 6-10 buttons for stompbox control and 1-5 for bank changes. Just spent about 2 hours doing research and hooking shit stuff and FINALLY got it working properly with the expression pedals. Sure beat this shit out of going and spending 800.00 on a liquid foot.

Great to see Marty has joined the Axe-Fx list of users. The clips of that guy on Youtube listed earlier doing the Van Halen and George Lynch stuff was pretty kickass too!

    Sup?

This was posted on the F.F. today, looks like Marty Friedman is all Fractalfied now, too bad he isn't still in Megadeth.

in the latest issue of Japan's Sound Designer magazine.

Marty has been using his Ultra for both amps and effects on tons of stuff both in the studio and live. It's all over his new album. He didn't get the unit until the middle of the recording process but ended up re-recording a bunch of tracks with his new "magic box". He said the Axe-Fx "simply sounded better" and inspired him as he finished the process.

Definitely spend time with the manual. I keep mine right near my seat in the living room so I grab it whenever I want and read a few things on the amp sims which are the only "effects" I don't know all the functions of.

Reducing the number of patches would never get the price that low (almost half the price of the Standard). The quality of the components, the speed of the processor, the initial R&D and support are the major factors in its pricing.

Regardless, save your money and get one because once you do, you want to have to buy another amp or processor ever again....unless they release the Axe-FX Ultra Plus.

I want one but I'm carrying too much balance on my CC at the moment to get one. Once I pay it down I will probably spring for one of these. I like the dude's engineering philosophy on them. He puts the expensive parts where they will do the most good.

LOL I caved too... I'm on the list.

I was told they should have some more Ultras in stock in less then a week. Standards are in stock currently.
