I LOVE you guys (The Absence) and I'm somewhat envious of you fuckers.
I wanted to bring Gothenburg home and be Cleveland's answer to Arch Enemy early 2002. You guys did that IMO, and threw down better stuff post "Wages Of Sin" . When they slipped..you guys picked up that slack for me. It was refreshing, and the timing was perfect. 
You can say I'm a fan! Can't wait for the new one. Bibz, Gary, guys..seriously check these guys out man. "Riders of the Plague" was in my top five that year.

Yeah Gary, I was impressed with their first so I bought ROTP, and that's when Arch Enemy lost their edge. Don't get me wrong..Arch Enemy is great, but they over stay their welcome with the extended bridges. It loses momentum, and my penis goes limp. I'm all for having aggressive and melodic contrast for dynamics but they went a little too far with it IMO. I prefer songs that get to the point, and leaves you headbangin' and wanting more ..not leaving your bored. ..and limp.
I'm not saying The Absence sounds like Arch Enemy, and I hope they don't mind the comparison, but the influence is obvious. The Absence have their own voice and style and every bit as good as AE..IMO!
Cleveland still don't have a band in this genre. We do have Soulless that's like an early At The Gates..Entombed kinda thing. Cleveland's version of At The Gates with From The Depths. They were ahead of the curve here because they were doing their thing around '96.
The Absence is in league with Scar Symmetry, early Soilwork, In Flames, Heartwork era Carcass, Gardenian, Dark Tranquility, Carnal Forge, Darkane, The Haunted, ATG and ect..top notch playing/production/writing. IMO!

Wow the amp looks great and very unique. You are very talented.
The only thing i would worry is that every bump now might be damaging the wood without the protection of the tolex.
