Boss GT-10 Owners - Question regarding the looper

I have a question about the Boss GT 10 Looper. Does anyone know how many loop tracks can be laid out simultaneously?

Don't know for sure, but I have never ran out of space on mine and I've layered quite a bit.

Seems like I remember them saying it is infinite as long as you can still distinguish it with your ear. From what I understood, it makes a recording of everything coming through the outputs when its recording, so if you're recording your second layer, its actually re-recording the 1st layer with the second layer on top, making it the only layer
