They aren't bad amps if you like the whole Peavey XXX thing. I actually think they're a better amp than the XXX. I sold my Ultra 120 becuase I found myself playing my Mesa Duel Recto's and JMP Marshalls more.Comment

Only problem was a blown fuse, still rocking with it, sounds really great through an external cab."We were sitting on the bus one day and there were 5 of us hanging out. Ok thanks for the link, Its the ultra plus 120 then that I saw.
Sound like a mix of the XXX and 5150 to me as well.
This just might work really well in powering my rack.I had a 5150 combo and loved it so maybe I can work this deal out.Really? well screw Mark Twain.Comment

Man I payed almost double that after re-tubeing for mine, and it's kinda beat up and still feels like a deal - buy it!!
For 120 watt head with punishing distortion for that price of just an mp-1 alone?
You might just like the amp itself more than just a power section.
In fact i wouldn't really recommend it for just a power section, preferably.
My 100 watt randall is a tad bit louder than this head.
Transformer is kinda weak i think? but still for the price, for what it is
and delivers buy it.
Tubes - Sounds killer with Rubys, JJ's (suck) two quads came to me crap from two different vendors, But sounded fucking unholy when they started red plating for about 10 seconds it was the tone of the immortals
