Yamaha T-50 or T-100 is a Soldano designed amp, and can do a Marshall +. I had a pair of them, and they were tremendous amps for the money. If you can find one for around $500-600, get it.

Well my recommendation is get either a jcm 800 2203 or my personal favorite is a Marshall JCM 900 SL-X 2100 *93 - 99* and then mod the bias circuit and place some JJ E34Ls and jj Ecc83S tubes in it, a nice fat, creamy and has a great growl to it. I might add some kt88s to this amp next retube, but I am very pleased with teh E34Ls though!

          Cheers,
          Charlie

You can get a SLO-100 with the effects loop. It just costs extra. My SLO has the 5 Mods, but it also cost me $4150. Worth it to me with all the top notch components and lifetime transferable warranty!
I think Mike Soldano can do the effects loop mod on an existing or used SLO for around $150. You would have to check with them.

I hear ya. Like most of my gear, I bought my SLO-100 sight unseen or heard. I was not dissapointed. I had just read up on it before I bought it. Too me, it really doesn't shine till you turn it up to "5". Just my opinion. But at 5 and above it is the tone of the "gods"! I think Hippie Tim stated a similar thing about the SLO-100. I think Tim may have sold his if I remember. If I need bedroom volume I use a Marshall JMP-1 into a power amp for Marshall tones and a Mesa Triaxis into a power amp for Mesa Boogie tone.

I dont need bedroom tones I got a modeler for that I need an amp for rehearsel and live use so the soldano might work good but not being able to try out a slo first would worry me I actually just listened to a slo clip that I realy liked though it has enough gain for me

I know I'm gonna start to sound like a broken record.....but the Bugera 1990 is the best bang for the buck as a modded Marshall 900 clone. It's a clone in every aspect except they fixed those annoying little things that are a part of every Marshall 900. All for under $500.

                          check out this video...

**side note** Bugera amps ARE reliable. I've tortured mine since I started gigging with it in Feb and it has been perfect! After the tubes burned in a bit the sound got even better. If you can locate one...try it out. You'll be surprised.
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

Check out the new band at - https://www.facebook.com/PerfectStormMetal/?fref=nf

+1, especially if you can get a 50-watter with EL-34's. I had that one. Had I used pedals at all then, I'd probably still have it. I was a little disappointed with the stock gain, but had it been slammed on the front end...

I know im tempted to get one without trying it but that would be the wrong thing to do. Its hard to tell if it'd be for me. Im afraid its voiced more fore dokken type stuff. Do you know wich marshall jcm 800s the overdrive channel is based of for gears 2 and 3.
