Narrowed it down from four (Proco Rat, Boss OD1, Arion Stereo Delay, and Arion Stereo Chorus) to....

            None.

It shows my suckiness, but I like the sound after the 1 hour warmup.

There's no rule here. If it works for you and you like your tone, then its "right". If you feel that your signal is being loaded down but you need all of those pedals for differnt songs/tones/etc, you can always go with a switching system that only routes your signal through the pedals currently in use.

I liked it with a clean amp - added some sustain to notes and smoothed out the "poppy" kind of pick attack sound. Other than that, useless (to me, but I'm not a compression type of guy).

I have a handful of pedals, and will occasionally use them when recording, but I usually go straight from my So-Cal into my 5150.

                    Currently I have:

BBE Sonic Stomp (Doesn't seem to do much with my 5150 or Egnator, so I don't use it much)

                    EVH/MXR Flange

Ibanez Flying Pan phaser (Reissue of course. I occasionally use it to run both my Egnator and Peavey in tandem.)

Boss RE 20 Space Echo (Love it, use it on a couple of songs)

Digitech WH 1 (The original one. I use it, but mostly for recording)

                    MXR Kfk1 10 band eq

and an old Steve Vai Bad Horsie wah.

That's it. They all have their uses and place, but again I most often go straight into my amp. Whatever works, y'know?

You guys are gonna laugh at my setup. Obviously I do NOT use them all at once, most are always in bypass, but they are all hooked up and ready to go, just gotta touch the button .
I take back my original statement of running 15 pedals....it's 14.
I do not use any digital pedals, so there honestly isn't that much tone suck occuring.
That was my main reason for not using any Boss pedals......they have a cool sound when engaged.....suck the life out of your guitar signal when in bypass.
On my board, the only ones I really have any problems with are the Danelectros. They steal some tone, not too terribly, but definitely noticeable.
Oh yeah, each and every pedal is in front of the amp, as I do not have a loop built in.
                      Works for me.

                      Morley Wah/Vol pedal
Mars miniYesman envelope filter (most fun fuck around with pedal ever!!)
                      EH Big Muff Pi Fuzz
                      Biyang Metal End distortion
                      Artec Blues Overdrive
                      Biyang OD7 3 way overdrive
BBE Mind Bender trem/chorus (mostly used in trem)
                      EH LPB1 boost pedal
                      Behringer Chorus
                      Biyang Acoustic Simulator
                      Artec Graphic EQ
                      Danelectro Flanger
                      Danelectro Phaser
                      Biyang DS-8 delay

I'm probably going to pick up a few more distortion and overdrive pedals as well. Swap em out every once in a while just to get different tones. What can I say, it keeps me amused, and doesn't anger the wife as much as surfing the internet for pornography does

I'm using a Planet Waves tuner pedal and a DOD Juice Box. I might add more over time, we'll see.

A lot of true bypass pedals will sitll kill your signal...you're better off with something up front to give yourself a low impedance feed (or EMGs).

You might need just one more. An even number reduces 'buzz'
