i have always enjoyed the cranked tone of an AC30. very thick and crunchy. never played with a vox modeler.
    GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

    and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

I'm really interested in the AC100. I need another 100watt head like a new shoe with a hole in the toe but this looks like a good amp and priced just right. The Crate V18 were a steal too @ 149 -200 for a class A but I don't need another El84 combo.... still, looks like a nice little amp and the V50 looked like a decent A/B push-pull too with the wattage switching. Probably all very mod friendly.

Are we talking about the Valvetronix line? If so, then I used to have the AD50VT. Great sounding amp for the price. I think Peavey's Vypyr line does a better job at modeling the tube sag. I agree that Line 6 sounds plasticky, even their Vetta line.
