Hammerfall?

I just created a new "station" on Pandora - TNT. Hammerfall came up a couple times, and it was really some pretty good stuff. Anyone know much about these guys? Any specific album recommendations?

The first two are good, but they were written by the guy from in flames, Jesper. The other albums, I don't personally dig. Even the first ones are full of rock-warrior cheese!

I've got all of their stuff except for the newest one that just came out. The earlier albums are the best, but there's still some good songs on the later ones. Don't expect any seriously deep/meaningful lyrics, lots of talk of warriors and shit. If you like a fun Euro power metal band, then Hammerfall is a great place to start.

jesper played drums on the first album (glory to the brave) IIRC, so I don't know how big his influence on the riffing really was during these days...
he was no involved in the recording of legacy of kings (second album). that was when stefan elmgren came into play who stayed with the band till 2008.

seen them live again last month and I have to say I really enjoyed it.
actually I don't listen all that much to the classic power metal anymore, due to the cheese-factor, but they are always fun live.
and I kinda liked the new lead guitar player. he somehow brought his own stuff up during the older songs (meaning all stuff except the last album).

but I somehow stopped following them. maybe I should give the new albums a listen too...

the rythem player dronjak plays an RR24 nowadays btw.
really loyal jackson player considering they do have a gibson endorsment...
and he seems to even play some leads now every now and then...

but the first two albms kick ass for sure.

just looked this jesper thing up on the hammerfall page; though he was not involved in recordings since his drums appearance he was involved in songwriting up to the third album.
seems like you were somehow right there levantin. I just wonder why he didn't get to play some guitars, he's such an awesomely tight player actually...

If you like Hammerfall, you MUST check out the band called "The Lost Horizon", and their debut album, "Awakening the World". It's power metal all the way through (for better and for worse), but those guys walk all over Hammerfall.

That album rocks. You must read the liner notes too; they're hilarious.

Second album was a big disappointment for me.

I agree levantin the first two records are the best, after that their songs have gotten worse .
