New RATT single - Best of Me

I grew up listening to a lot of Ratt and i dig it. I like the fact that they stuck to their old proven formula/sound and it's a decent tune. I'll pick this CD up when it comes out. Thanks for posting that.

IMO, This song flat out SUCKS...compared to the other three tracks I've heard.

If you like this, then you'll LOVE the others.

One of the others I've heard has a killer Lack of Communication vibe to it and all are MUCH heavier sounding than this crappy Detonator era, sounding song.

Detonator (and the timing of it) KILLED this great band....they should stay away from the Desmond Child formula.

you're right about the mix. I got the iTunes single and its the same bad mix. Its a nice tune, but might be a little too pop oriented.

Like the song, hate the vocals. Pearcy never really could sing, but at least in the old days they found a way to make him sound better by having him double his parts, designing simpler melodies, and putting him more in the middle of the mix.

I think the mix might be intentional so as to sound like their older stuff. I mean it sounds like their earlier records in my opinion and people usually grip because bands don't sound like they used to. So they might have thought, "let's do it like the old days"... Just a thought...

The mix is exactly how they would have sounded back then if the recording format was the same as it is now.

I liked it. I wouldn't say it is the greatest Ratt song I ever heard, but Pearcy still sounds like Pearcy, Warren sounds like Warren, and Cavazo can play. For nostalgia reasons it would have been cool to get the original lineup, obviously minus Robin. I likely will pick it up when it comes out. I wan't really sure if the production was the problem or just my speakers on my monitor. Either way it could still have sounded worse, but did not.
